Chair

Oil on Masonite, 18" x 24".

Upon searching through my old computer files, I stumbled into this painting that I no longer have anymore, but was very proud of. I entered this painting into a Japan Relief Art Auction that was held after the earthquake/tsunami tragedy in 2011. This painting was actually classwork from my time at Gordon College. It was a sad thing to see it go, but it was one of the first works of mine that I completed that I gave away, knowing I'd probably never see it again. For me, it was a memorable growing experience as an artist. It now belongs to the Art Director at Monsterrat College of Art.

In Remembrance

This past Christmas, my sister Lydia and I finished a painting that we were asked to do for the mother of the lovely children in this photograph. The scene is from twenty-some years ago, and the elderly man present is their grandfather that past just shortly after Christmas day less than a decade after this photo was taken. It couldn't have been a greater privilege to collaborate on this sentimental painting, being so close to the feeling of loss of a loved patriarch of the family. Thank you to our great friends, Tristan and Ian (the young'uns here) for giving us this opportunity. And thank you for trusting us with something so delicate.

Here is a close-up of the grandchildren with their grandfather.

The Nature-Lover's Family Portrait

This is a painting I did for a family that I've become very close with here in the North Shore. I wanted to do something special for them this Christmas, so I decided to represent them by choosing items belonging to this active family that describes their admiration for their most-loved thing--the outdoors.

Snow Memory

A friend of mine asked if I could paint a duplicate of a photograph from his childhood that his mother loves. What a thoughtful Christmas gift! I had a great time painting this nostalgic snapshot in time.

South American Flamingo Flower

These flowers were given to Lydia and myself while we were in Colombia to see some friends for 5 days. I believe they are called "flamingo flowers." There were everywhere in Medellin, Colombia.

"Crow" Makes an Appearance

I was asked by a friend of mine to contribute art to a Halloween-themed zine and mix-tape. Here, my "Crow" is featured as art in the zine.
Thank you, Ian Stanley, for allowing me to be a part of this!

Rebecca

This is an oil portrait of my beautiful sister, Rebecca. I've done 3 sessions on it thus far, with another session or two to come. Once the paint dries, I'll be able to paint on top of it.
Any critiques are gladly received.
